Disneyland or bust...

The difficulty with this conversation is that it's very different from most of the ones I've had of late. Which, as I explained, have mostly been with trees. -Douglas Adams-

Waiting is often one of the most uncomfortable things we are forced to endure. It is a subtle and sublime torture. It is also, very often a result of circumstances beyond our control.
There are few situations I can think of that leave you feeling more helpless and impotent than those where you have to simply wait for things to evolve before you can even contemplate taking any sort of action, never mind actually committing to doing anything.
What am I talking about?
My father-in -law was taken to the hospital, by ambulance, last week. Bad cold? Pneumonia? Hangnail gone horribly wrong? We really don't know. Still...We don't know. The doctors have managed to eliminate a lot of things, so that is a good indicator, i suppose. Then again, they also don't actually know what is wrong.
Sandi is putting up a good fight, but I know she is going out of her mind right now. So am I. I will be relieved when they actually figure out what is wrong. Sandi's Mom is lost. Sandi's brothers are planning on what amount to a worst case scenario, and we are in the middle. We definitely want to be ready in the event that things go south, but we aren't selling the farm until we actually know what is wrong. In essence we wait.
That is, I suppose the crux of the dilemma. Waiting. What do we do? How do we prepare? WT??!
It is a cruel thing, waiting. I can't think of anything that can reduce a family so thoroughly, and make them feel as impotent as having to wait. Patience is always in short supply when your loved ones are sick.
Good thoughts, though.

Pax, all.
