The training has started in earnest for the new computer system they will be launching at work. 3.5 weeks and it goes live. When all is said and done, I will have had almost 3 hours of actual training on this new system.
No way is that going to be enough. Not even close. We don't even have a fully functional simulated system to work with, since they're still assembling the new system. Even assuming that the new system launches without any issues(please insert snicker here), there is going to be no back up system in place. Our current system is fairly dated, and very touchy. The change over to the new system will render it useless.
A new system, and no "Plan B". Little training, minimal prep time, limited hands-on practice.... Oh Yeah. This is going to be fun.
T-minus 24 days and counting.
